Makalu
Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world, in the Himalaya range, and is a 4 sided pyramid. This simple, yet interesting pattern, greatly resembles a peak like this to me. It isn’t 4 sided; but it does gradually climb in even increments to the peak, gathering all of the ribbed lines together at the top.
The pattern uses slipped stitches to make the ribs larger and protrude out more from the reverse stockinette stitch hat.
Tips and suggestions:
I didn’t put a pom pom on mine- but I definitely think you should for yours.
Don’t like to purl? A friend of mine recommended knitting this had inside out (knitting the purls and purling the knits) and then flipping it inside out when you’re done. Try it that way and like it? Let me know! I love to hear how modifications work out for people.
