This pretty little, crescent shaped, shawl has been knit in a pure silk heavy lace (600m/100g) and can be knit with either an all over lace pattern or a stocking stitch body and lace border. There is, however, no reason why it cannot be knit in any other weight and it would look especially lovely in a cobweb weight yarn. There is a a choice between a repeatable 24 row pattern or a stocking stitch body, so you will find it very simple to tailor the size of this shawl to suit you. Knit in linen it would be an amazing addition to your summer wardrobe, silk would be elegant for a wedding or garden party or worsted would be wonderful preparation for the cooler days of autumn or winter. Taking inspiration for the design from the shapes of electricity pylons that ‘decorate’ our countryside - the strong and immoveable geometry of the structures have been transformed into the lace pattern of Resolute Spirit, turning utility into elegant beauty.

The pink shawl shown used 550m of Knitwitches Seriously Gorgeous Pure Silk (600m/100g) and about 750 size 6/0 Miyuki Seed Beads. It measures 86” (220cm) wide and 26.5” (67cm) deep after four repeats and lace edges but I tend to knit a little loosely and do block like a thug!
