TGV (High Speed Knitting)
TGV smooth ride is now included.
You can buy this pattern separately or as part of the ebook which also includes Shinkan-Zen, Orient Express and Hogwarts Express.
The pattern is available in English or German, be sure to download the version you are interested in.
TGV = train grande vitesse (high speed train)
but also
TGV = tricot grande vitesse (high speed knitting).
This is a quick and easy knit - 2 sections each worked with only one pattern row, which also makes it very relaxing - one of the testers said it was “meditative”.
No counting, no rs/ws, no stitch markers, no short rows - just quick and easy knitting - with a satisfyingly elegant result.
Particularly good for showcasing handpainted or long-striping sock yarns. The pattern was originally designed for one skein of sock yarn, but can easily be adapted to other weights (tips on how to do this are provided in the pattern).
Note - This pattern relies on the qualities of garter stitch to create the crescent shape; so I do NOT recommend knitting the base with stockinette stitch. You can read more about this in the stitchnerds group. If you don’t like garter stitch I would suggest you use one of my patterns designed with a stockinette base. You can knit the stockinette base from the other pattern and then use the increase row and ribbing from this pattern.
Note - you need to use a stretchy cast-on such as cable cast on.
Many thanks to Strickliesel-Bea for the German translation.
