The Unlikely Pair is perfect for keeping the autumn chill away and the in-between-seasons office and restaurant air conditioning from freezing you into miserable, unfocused submission.

Because it’s designed for DK weight yarn, it knits up swiftly. Don’t let the thickness of the yarn fool you, though; it’s not a bulky shawl! It drapes beautifully, and the ends curl softly into tendrils.

Wear it traditionally over your shoulders, folded in half with the ends pulled through, swirled around your neck like a fashionable scarf, or the creative way you come up with, you trendsetter, you.

• DK BFL Superwash by Sun Valley Fibers
• Weight: DK / 8-ply
• Fiber: 100% Superwash Bluefaced Leicester Wool

Gauge

• Rib and Welt Pattern, Washed: 21 stitches and 34 rows = 4” / 10cm
• Mosaic Pattern, Washed: 21 stitches and 42 rows = 4” / 10cm
• To produce an even mosaic, pronounced texture, fabric with a soft drape.

• One 60” (150m) + circular needle in size needed to obtain rib and welt gauge listed

Techniques

• Cast On: I-cord Tab, Invisible Provisional
• Basics: Reading written or charted instructions, working flat, joining a second color, knitting and purling, slipping stitches
• Increases: Lifted left increase, yarnover
• Finishing: I-cord bind off, Kitchener stitch (two stitches), weaving in ends, blocking.
