The Yolanda Head Scarf is a vintage inspired accessory made with fingering weight yarn and an intricate lace pattern to give it a light and airy feel. The scarf’s main pattern is worked by using a technique called filet crochet where a design is added to a crocheted fabric by working open and closed “blocks” of stitches. It sounds more confusing than it actually is, so don’t worry because this pattern features filet charts, written instructions, pictures for key steps, and several video tutorials for you to follow. The head scarf is worked as one continuous piece which means you won’t have to reattach your yarn anywhere and will only have 2 ends to sew in. Even though it’s made with fingering weight yarn, it still works up quickly making it a great project to make multiples of and to gift to friends. It’s honestly been a great accessory for me to spice up my outfits and a stylish way to protect my hair from the sun and wind.

Crochet level:
-Intermediate (You should know how to read a crochet pattern and be comfortable with the basic stitches.)

This pattern comes with instructions for 2 sizes: S/M (L/XL). The sizes are meant to fit a head circumference of 20-22.5 (22.5-25) in 51.5-57, 57-63.5 cm.

-Crochet hook C/2.75 mm crochet hook or any other hook needed to obtain the gauge listed in the pattern
-S/M: 275 yds 250 m / 3.5 oz 50 g
-L/XL: 275 yds 250 m / 3.5 oz 50 g
-Scissors
-Tape measure
-Stitch markers
-Darning needle

Yarn used: Knitting for Olive Pure Silk (other suggested yarns include Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino, Go Handmade Tencel Bamboo Fine, Malabrigo Mora, and Shibui Reed, but most light fingering weight yarns should work)
