1 or 3 cardigan
A crazy idea: one could knit one layer per season.
Knit a little asymmetrical cardigan with short sleeves for the summer.
When it gets colder, knit an extra layer.
And when Fall really comes up, add the 3rd layer.
1 or 3 is a seamless cardigan worked from the top down in 1 piece. It is ideal to work up some of your unique, single skeins.
It starts with a provisional cast on at the back and is first worked bottom up. After shaping the shoulders, stitches are picked up for the front and sleeves and are worked top down inspired by the contiguous sleeve method, developed by Susie Myers. The layers are added picking up stitches. Short rows are used to shape the layers.
Intended to be be worn with no ease or a little positive ease.
Note: the photos are a bit different from the pattern, the buttonbands of the 2 bottom sections are knit together with the body because picking up stitches and knitting the bands afterwards was just a bit too fiddly.
