1:12th scale Grandmas bedroom
Materials required:
Blanket (c. 1945)-Size 14 (2 mm/US size 0) knitting needles, 65 metres/70 yards1-ply wool.
Patchwork cushion (c.1943) - Size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 12 metres/13 yards each of pink and blue 1-ply wool, 25 metres/28 yards green 1-ply wool, small amount of Burgundy wool for embroidery, stuffing material.
Hot Water Bottle Cover (c. 1943)- Size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 12 metres/13 yards 1-ply wool, 2 small buttons or beads.
Single Bedcover (c.1830-1940’s) - Size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, Oddments of wool (approx 1yard/1 metre of wool is required for each triangle), 12 metres/13 yards 1-ply wool in Ecru, 100 metres/110 yards 1-ply wool for border. If knitting in one colour only allow approx. 225 metres/244 yards of 1-ply wool.
Note: For a single bedspread approximately inches/ cm by inches/ cm: 98 coloured triangles and 10 ecru triangles are required. The size of the bedspread can be easily increased or decreased but allow for increase in size of border and allow for extra wool.
Gauge is not important for this project as dolls house beds vary greatly in size.
