I fell in love with my #218 Pendants Blanket, but alas, I’m no baby! But maybe I could convert it into an open cardigan … ?

So, I added a wide Garter stitch border with some extra shaping to get a nice shawl collar and ta-da! My beautiful baby blanket is saved from being stored away or lying dormant on a couch and is now a most-wearable and very stylin’ knit cardigan.

The finished cardigan has a Japanese flair to it with architectural lines. Let’s just pretend this end result was on purpose when I designed the baby blanket ;-)

ONE SIZE ONLY (fits S to L, see size note above). Approx 32” 81.5 cm long down center back and 36 ½ (92.5 cm) wide measured from end to end at middle of armholes.

GAUGE: 22 sts = 5” 12.5 cm and 32 rows = 4” 10 cm in Garter st (when entire row is Garter st), blocked

Approximate total yardage required for the 3 Blanket Sizes included in the Blanket pdf are Baby (Lap, Throw): 990 (1622, 2546) yds 905 (1483, 2328) m.

To convert the BABY BLANKET into this Cardigan takes approx. 242 yards EXTRA.
