#24/29 Map of the World Sweater
Pattern Description from Vogue Knitting, Fall 2007:
Designer Kay Niederlitz’s global mastery of colorwork is evident in her Map of the World sweater, a two-sided garment with intarsia hemispheres on either side. the world is greener today than it was in ‘91, so Niederlitz updated the palette in eight earthy shades of ‘Saucy’ mercerized cotton by Reynolds/JCA. the oversize pullover is simply constructed: dropped shoulders, crew neck, narrow-ribbed edges.

Notes:
- You can download the charts from Vogue’s website or oder them by mail.
- When working charts, use separate bobbin of yarn for each large block of color. When changing colors, twist yarns on WS to prevent holes.
- When working a rib st in a new color, k it on RS rows and p it on WS rows.
- Knit first and last st of every row for selvage sts. do not count these sts at seam edges when measuring pieces. work incs and decs at edges inside of these sts.
- The instructions and charts are written for the 1991 version. The 2007 version shows the garment in reverse.
A new version of this was printed in the Fall 2007 issue. The 1991 version was available as a leaflet, but may be out of print now.
It is #29 in the original VK Spring/Summer 1991
