This shawl is the perfect project to experiment with basic, mindless lace.

In summer we always need a shawl: a sudden breeze or a cool night. Also in winter we need a shawl, to fight the cold days.

We are always happy to pull out a light but warm shawl to make everybody go Oooooohhhhhh!

Play with colours, beads, and tassels: go bold, enjoy it!

A note on the files

• English Version AND Iatlian Version: those file comprehend all the different number, yardage and instruction from lace to DK.
• Fingering version: this file contains ONLY the fingering version of the shawl
• Lace versione: this file contains ONLY the lace versione of the shawl All versione are in English AND Italian, and of course accessible to anyone buying the pattern :)

Skills Needed
Casting-on (garter tab cast on, fully explained), knitting, purling, basic increases and decreases, basic lace

Gauge
10 cm / 4”, in garter stitch, once severely wet blocked

Lace version: 22 sts and 34 rows

Fingering version: 22 sts and 28 rows

Sport version: 19 sts and 30 rows

DK version: 16 sts and 28 rows

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but it will affect yarn usage and finished measurement of the shawl.
The shawl is easily customisable for the amount of yarn you have: always check how much yarn is left and act consequently.

Yarn

Lace version: 520 m (568 yd) of Lace yarn, 260 m (284 yd) for each colour.

Fingering version: 320 m (350 yd) of Fingering yarn, 160 m (175 yd) for each colour.

Sport version: 300 m (328 yd) of Sport yarn, 150 m (164 yd) for each colour.

DK version: 284 m (310 yd), of DK yarn, 142 m (155 yd), for each colour.

Needle, Sport version (DK version)
4 mm, US size 6 (4.5 mm, US size 7) 100 cm 40” circular needles, or size to obtain correct gauge

Tapestry needle to weave in ends

Embroidery needle to make tassels

6 or more beads in the colour of your choice

2 cotton tassels in the colour of your choice (tutorial provided)
