Above the Clouds
Above the Clouds is a delightfully cosy winter scarf, inspired by the fluffy, flowing shapes of clouds seen from above. Meandering columns of garter stitch and double moss stitch create the scarf’s fully reversible texture, and the yarn’s soft blend of polwarth, alpaca, and possum is wonderfully cloudlike.
Skills needed include the Long-Tail cast on, knit and purl stitches, slipping stitches at the start of each row for a tidy edge, and a basic knitted bind-off.
Materials: 3 balls of Outlaw Yarn’s Bohemia Worsted in ‘Fog’ (45% polwarth, 45% alpaca, 10% possum; 219yds/200m per 100g ball), or 490 yards / 448 metres of worsted-weight yarn.
Sizing: One size, 68”/173cm long and 9”/23cm wide. Suggestions are included for resizing.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 27 rows = 4”/10cm in double moss stitch:
Rows 1-2: (k1, p1) to end of row
Rows 3-4: (p1, k1) to end of row
Both charted and written instructions are included.
Pattern is for personal use only.
