After a long day in her customer service job, my best friend said she thought she deserved an Oscar for not letting her tiredness show. So I decided to knit her one for her birthday. It’s a little over half as tall as a real Academy Award, but makes for a fun gift all the same.

Aside from the yarn, you’ll need a ring of plastic/cardboard/etc about an inch (2.5 cm) tall and 2.75” (7 cm) in diameter (a ring cut from a 20 oz soft drink bottle works well), stuffing, a scrap of fabric for the name plate, needle and thread, and a permanent marker.
