Summer mood …. with happy colored scrap slippers!
Slippers are a perfect project to get rid of the smallest balls.
One piece, toe/up.
The leg straps with crochet balls are optional, but very cute details.

As I always do with all my cotton slippers, outsoles are joined to the bottoms. In this case, the CORD-SOLES.

The kids’ Happy Scrap Slippers

Terminology: US Crochet Terms.
Skill Level: Intermediate

PDF PATTERN:
14 pages. Written instructions, photos, tutorials and videos, stitch-charts for all sizes.

MATERIALS:

Yarn:
Light/3/DK/8 Ply/Wpi: 11.
Cotton, or any yarn suitable for the project.

I have used:
MAFIL, Cablè 3 (Italian brand), crochet thread size 3, 100 % mercerized cotton, wpi: 21.
Ball: 50 g (1.8 oz), 140 m (152 yd).
Worked with double yarn (two strands).
Recommended.
A must for slippers with outsoles for street wear, as you achieve a stiff and sturdy fabric.

Any brand for crochet thread size 3 will do.
E.g: Aunt Lydia’s (Coats) and Petra (DMC).
Available in US at Joann, Knitting Warehouse, Red Heart, Michael’s.

• If you cannot find crochet thread # 3, look for fingering cotton, 135-140 meter (145-150 yd) on 50 g/1.8 oz.

Total Amount:
75-100 g (2-3.5 oz) depending on size.

Crochet hook:
European metric 3.5 mm (US E/4), or any hook size to obtain gauge and size information in the instruction.

Sizes:

Small: US 2 - 4 / EU 34-36
Medium: US 5 - 6 / EU 37-38
Large: US 7 - 8/ EU 39-40
Extra Large: 9-10 / EU 41-42

The S-Size can be worn by children;
Child-size US 3-5 - EU 33-35.

Joining outsoles to one piece slippers, has several advantages. They protect your slippers against wear and tear, makes them sturdy, and comfortable to walk and wear, it looks nice, and not least, it turns your slippers into shoes for street wear, like Espadrilles!

Handmade insoles will add extra comfort and softness, and keep the slippers in shape.
