Incredibly soft, warm, and surprisingly lightweight! The Airy Alpaca Cowl is a great transitional piece, to be worn from the first autumn breezes to the last lingering days of winter. The twisted rib and double seed stitch create complex textures to compliment the loftiness of this alpaca/merino blend. Intermediate knitters can finish this in a few hours, and it is an appropriate introduction to lace charts for beginners.

Requiring only 100 yards of chunky yarn, it’s perfect for that one special skein. Please note that if you intend to substitute a bulky yarn in another fiber such as acrylic or wool, the cowl will be denser, and therefore warmer, than if you use the recommended Misti Alpaca.

The lace chart in this pattern was inspired by this sock pattern.
