Alight Hat
The motif for the Alight Hat and Mitts comes from a dado tile on the staircases in the railway station’s wings. The tiles came from H. and R. Johnson Ltd., who continue to produce tiles in England today.
A mix of twisted rib mimics the bold and subtle lines of the tiles. The Alight hat has an extra-deep folded rib brim to keep the hat snug against the head no matter how much the Wellington wind pulls at it. The motif pattern morphs into the crown with decreases hidden in the pattern.
