Who doesn’t love Hallowe’en?

I certainly do! I wanted to create a hat that perfectly summed up this most fun holiday, and what better image than that of a grinning pumpkin? I think you’ll agree that this one looks particularly cheeky, and there’s definitely a hint of mischief in his eyes!

With a corrugated rib brim, a bulging, tam-shaped body, and a twisted stalk to finish, This is a pumpkin fit for any Hallowe’en party!

The All Hallows Hat uses the ladder-back jacquard technique to allow for longer floats would normally be possible in stranded work. It’s a method that was originally used in machine knitting, but can just as easily be put to good use in hand knitting, and can totally free up the design process, as there are no constraints at all on how many stitches you can have of one colour in a single stretch!

It also looks a little like a spider’s web on the inside, which is a very happy accident, given the theme of the hat in the first place!

The All Hallows Hat has bold, structural, black ridges working up the side, which add to the shaping of the finished pumpkin, and give it a comic-bookesque feel that I really like.
