I always wanted to devise a sock pattern that is simple yet impressive and is good in dealing with variegated yarns we all love to buy but don’t know how to tame them when it comes to actual knitting.
Of course, being me I couldn’t leave you with a heel of your choice. (Though feel free to substitute with your favourite one; in this case make sure BOR position is where you want it.)

Note on sizing

Personally I believe that Checked Rose fabric looks best when not stretched, so my sample is size M in the pattern (64-sts cuff, 56-sts leg, fits European 39). Almost all testers that claim wearing the same shoe size, however, ended up with size S (48-sts) leg because of different fit preferences or looser gauge or other reasons.
Please take time to check the gauge, or run a lifeline before transition round.
