This rectangular wrap (or scarf) features fully reversible fabric, and combines eyelet panels with a center section of light ribbing. While the combination of stitch patterns and the nature of the lace require some attention, this is an efficient design that’s been boiled down to one simple repeat for the main pattern.

Once you’ve got your work set up, it’s easy to continue from memory, and easy to work this wrap to any length that you prefer.

Blocking is strongly recommended for this pattern—the transformation is really satisfying by itself, and the finish and drape is excellent. The sample is shown in a 50/50 merino/tencel blend and gets a lot of shin from the tencel, but this can be worked in any lace to fingering-weight yarn—you’ll need about two skeins of most 400-yard-per-skein hand-dyed sock yarns.

Materials:

• 750-800 yards of Valley Yarns Colrain Lace (sample in Plum colorway), or another fingering-weight yarn
• One 24” circular needle in US4-5/3.5-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge.
• Tapestry needle
• Optional: stitch markers to separate pattern panels/sections

Gauge:
Suspiciously square! 26 sts and 26 rows over 4”/10cm in middle panel pattern as written, worked flat and firmly blocked. Please be sure to check your gauge.

70”/1.77m long by 17.5”/44cm wide.
