Angletyn Afghan
- Fast, easy & reversible
- Three versatile sizes
- One pattern, two designs
Description
With wide bands of color and large scale chevrons, Angletyn makes a striking statement.
This fast, easy design is all about angles and color, so it’s versatile and completely unisex. Plus, a few simple adaptations produce jaunty, slanted stripes, so the directions for both versions are included.
The simple crossed stitch produces a subtle texture on the front and plush texture on the back. Strip construction means Angletyn is comfortable to work in any season and compact for knitting on the go, and the modified three-needle technique makes seaming a snap.
The pattern includes three sizes (baby, lapghan, throw) and instructions for wide, medium and narrow chevrons (or stripes). With bulky weight yarn, your project grows at a swift pace, but the pattern readily adapts to any yarn weight and multi-stranding.
Work the pattern as written, or tailor it to your tastes and yarn using the handy Quick Reference guide, schematics, tips, tricks, and easy modification ideas.
Skill Level 2: Easy
Angletyn is fast, easy and suited to any knitter who can cast on, knit, purl, m1 (l/r), ktbl, k2tog, slip stitches, pick up stitches, and bind off.

Test Knitter
Thank you, Linda (bobnlin), for volunteering to test knit and provide feedback. Both are much appreciated, and your version of Angletyn is lovely!

Update: Mar 12, 2017
A revised pattern file has been uploaded. Thanks to a question from a fellow knitter:
- The Bind Off section is now called Complete Strips.
- The directions have been modified slightly to add some context and clarification.
Please note the original Bind Off directions are accurate and will work just fine, so the decision to download the new version is up to you. If you printed the original pattern, you can quickly update it by printing pages 3 and 4 of the new file.
