Anonima Cowl
1 skein Madeline Tosh Merino Light in Maple Leaf - color A (420 yards)
1 skein Madeline Tosh Merino Light in Vintage Sari - color B (420 yards)
US #4 32” circular and 1 extra circular needle or cable for cast on edge
9 stitch markers, one unique
Finished dimensions are 5 x 44
Anonima can be worn doubled or loose, is knit in the round from a provisional cast on, then joined into a tube for easy wearing with no wrong sides. This optical pattern uses 2 complimentary singles of fingering weight semi-solids. (Stash-busting!) The impossible looking pattern is very simple… Only one color is worked at a time- the pattern is just slipped stitches, and combinations of knit & purl.
The semi-solid colors of the 2 yarns work beautifully together, but the pattern is just as striking in 2 solid color, complimentary yarns.
The American (Op-Art) artist collaborative, Anonima Group, was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in 1960 by Ernst Benkert, Francis Hewitt and Ed Mieczkowski.
