Arya’s Needlework is part of my Game of Thrones series of patterns. A character in the books inspires each pattern. This pattern is for Arya Stark. She is a determined and independent little girl who is better at playing with swords and bows than she is at sitting quietly and doing “girl” things but still she is often furious when she is mistaken for a boy. I thought that she could use a practical, close fitting pullover so that she could run and play as she wished but I gave it a simple lace pattern so that no one could mistake her for a boy.

The body of the sweater is knit from the bottom up in the round as are the sleeves. They are joined together at the yoke. This pattern only requires seaming at the underarm. Don’t be intimidated by the fine yarn, the lace pattern makes this sweater fly off the needles and the fine yarn makes it so wearable.
