10/13/13 I Published a new and improved version of this pattern. It was my first so I was expecting to make mistakes, however the current version is freshly updated.

This is the perfect indoor/outdoor autumn accessory. No more scarves coming undone or drafts giving your neck the shivers. It knits up in no time, and you can add a button or simply pin it closed with a brooch or pin.

Just one note, make sure that as you purl through the Yarn Overs you purl through the back loops to leave the lace hole. If you purl them twisted, you won’t get as pretty a pattern.

Also, I find in wearing it, that the one centered button isn’t ideal. It would be better with five smaller buttons placed to correspond to the yarn over holes along the edge.
