I can’t say chickens are a passion of mine! I was encouraged to attend the Chicken Show in Wayne, Nebraska with some other crochet projects and decided that rather than trying to find a cute chicken pattern, I would finally figure out my own.

This pattern is great for a beginner/intermediate crochet artist. Stitches and abbreviations used include:
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
sc2tog - single crochet 2 together
dc2tog - double crochet 2 together
dc3tog - double crochet 3 together
sk - skip

If any of these stitches are unfamiliar to you, they can be easily learned by searching youtube or by visiting a crochet blog.
