Baby Girls Cape
I created this cape when my daughter was about a year old. We used to watch her brother play college football in the evenings. She was too big and mobile for a blanket, but I wanted to add something over her jacket. I don’t think I’ve ever written out a pattern before this, but another lady there had asked for the pattern for her granddaughter so I took a stab at it… hopefully it makes sense.
The only thing is that I can’t remember how many skeins I used or what size needle, but if I had to guess I’d say size H.
A friend of mine suggested, instead of using a botton, using a break away clasp… the type used for cat collars, to help prevent choking for smaller children.
I made this when my daughter was a year old. She is now 6 years old and can still wear it. It just isn’t as long on her as it used to be.
