I love the look and the way that soft soled baby shoes stay on but I wanted to knit some. These shoes are knit in one piece (a little sewing for the sides of the shoe and tacking the elastic in the casing) and will fit a wide range of baby feet as the garter stitch has lots of give to it. I am sure with larger needles the shoe can be made a bit bigger for toddlers.
