Bamboo Princess Baby Blanket and Hat
Once upon a time, an old Japanese bamboo cutter found a tiny baby girl in a stalk of bamboo. She grew to be so beautiful and talented that the Emperor asked to marry her. But as she revealed, she could not, because she was actually the princess of the moon and must return to her kingdom. As she ascended to the moon, she left her foster parents her stole and donned a magical feathered robe. This blanket is worked in checked squares of a bamboo-stitch pattern and a feather lace pattern. The matching beanie-style hat has a bamboo-stitch brim and a stockinette-stitch crown that comes to a little point like a bamboo shoot.
NOTE
- Blanket is worked in one piece from one end to the other; size can be changed by adding or subtracting cast-on sts in multiples of 34 (34 sts will add/subtract about 6½ “ from blanket width).
