Inspired by movies of the late 40’s and 50’s, I can imagine this Dior ‘New Look’ type dress on anyone from Joan Crawford to Doris Day. Relatively simple, this dress works up in one piece except for the sleeve cuffs, so there is very little seam sewing. I think I might try the pleated skirt and wasp waist jacket of the ‘bar suit’ next. Barbie, at least, has the figure for it!
I’ve rated this pattern intermediate only because it gets a little fiddly around the collar. The following instructions are for Magic Loop Method but can be converted to double pointed needles if preferred.
