Laura Pavy of The Crochet Case designed the Victorian Step Bargello pattern exclusively for a video tutorial produced by Clare Sullivan of BobWilson123. With Laura & Clare’s approval, I’m providing this pattern so others can see the possible uses of the Bargello stitch technique and hopefully find inspiration for creating other projects to share.

The poncho is worked as 2 separate panels which are joined to form the garment. Each panel should be approximately 18-1/2” wide and 36” long. Actual gauge is 8 Rows and 15 stitches in pattern = 3-1/2” (not 4” as indicated above).

You will need approximately 7 oz each in 4 colors your choice of Worsted Weight Yarn - working 2 rows of each color for the pattern repeat.

I used Red Heart Super Saver yarns Aran & Country Blue and Woolworth yarns Dusty Rose & Turquoise.

This pattern has links to video tutorials for techniques used to create this poncho. But not an actual video tutorial to make the poncho.
