Description

These pretty toe up socks are made up of a lace pattern which looks like butterflies and another stitch pattern which reminded me of little buttercups until I realised they had five petals instead of four. The two stitch patterns together make me think of a meadow with long grasses and little pretty flowers and butterflies

Size: Two sizes approx M: 8.5”, L:(9.25”) around widest part of foot, will fit foot widths around this measurement. Instructions are provided for adapting the sock if you have a wider calf also.
Skills needed: Following charted lace patterns (no written instruction for the stitch patterns are provided), working in the round, working twisted stitches, multiple wrapped stitch formation over four stitches, short row shaping using the wrap and turn (w&t) method.
Yarn requirements: Any 100g (410-440m) sock yarn you wish to use, however I would suggest a semi-solid or solid yarn as anything with too much variation will lose the pattern. The sample pictures uses Schoeller+Stahl Sockina Color Antik Color in colour 0168.
Needle Requirements: 2.25mm (or size to match gauge) long circular for magic loop or DPN’s if desired. The pattern is written with circular needles in mind but easily adapted for 3 or 4 DPN’s. A small cable needle. This not used for cables but for doing the yarn wraps to create the little flowers.
Gauge: 32 stitches to 48 rows using 2.25mm over 4”/10cm in stocking stitch, worked in the round.
