A cozy little beaver, for my fellow Canadians, and anyone who loves his sweet, toothy smile. If you don’t want to knit the pattern on the coat, it’s possible to knit it with 40 g of a single colour.

The toy is advanced beginner level, and the sweater coat is intermediate level. Skills required include stockinette and moss stitch, left and right decreases, m1 increase, intarsia, following charts, mattress stitch. The toy pieces are all knit flat, then seamed, stuffed, and assembled.

Materials
Sweater Coat: 25 g of sport weight yarn in colour A (a light neutral), 15 g of sport weight yarn in colour B, 15 g of sport weight yarn in colour C.
Beaver: 50 g of worsted weight yarn in medium brown, 10 g of yarn in dark brown or black, small amount of black and white yarn
Needles: 3 and 3.25 mm (US size 2.5 or 3) for the sweater coat, 4 mm (US size 6) knitting needles for the beaver
Notions: 4 small buttons, pair of 9 mm safety eyes (or buttons or black yarn), tapestry needle, scrap yarn
