The Berkley Beret is a delightful mix of texture and warmth. It is a great pattern for spicing up those solid colors. Directions are given for five sizes: baby, toddler, child, teen, and adult. Directions also include an explanation on how to add an optional yarn bow/tie accent. This hat is made using a wool blend super bulky weight yarn, making it a quick and satisfying project. For sizing reference, the child size is being modeled in pictures 1 and 3 on a 6 year old. The toddler size is being modeled in picture 2 on a petite 4.5 year old. Please NOTE: The pattern for the cowl seen in pictures 2 and 3 is NOT included with this.

Materials:
~Set of U.S. 11 (8.00 mm) Double Pointed Knitting needles
~U.S. 15 (10.00 mm) 16” Circular Knitting needle
~Set of U.S. 15 (10.00 mm) Double Pointed Knitting needles
~1 locking stitch marker
~ Approximately 100 yards of super bulky weight yarn (or weight category 6) for the adult size (this is a generous estimate); less required for the smaller sizes. Example above was made using Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick. It is highly recommend that you use a super bulky wool blend yarn. 100% acrylic yarns will not have the same stretch and ease, and using such yarn will affect the final fit, so please use a yarn blend with good stretch.
~(OPTIONAL) A small amount of coordinating worsted weight yarn for tie accent.
~(OPTIONAL) A 3/4” button to accent the center of the bow if making the tie accent.
