Since there seems to be some confusion about what kinds of patterns are allowed on Ravelry, I am linking the Community Guidelines here. I hope that clears things up!

It is election year in the United States, and I am excited to cast my vote today (“Super Tuesday”)! I am inspired by the message of Bernie Sanders, and wanted to show my support. So I came up with “Bernie Bae,” because it is not gendered and I think it is more inclusive.

This pattern is free, because I believe that our elections should be free and open. Supporting a candidate should not have to cost anything unless you choose to donate. If you would like to make a donation, I encourage you to contribute directly to your preferred candidate’s campaign.

This pattern requires roughly 1/2 skein each of the suggested yarns, and can be made as either a classic fit, or a slouchy fit (as pictured in the sample), and instructions for both ways are included. The colorwork looks more complicated than it really is, but I would recommend this pattern for knitters who have done stranded colorwork at least once before. Please note that the colorwork charts are not written out.
