Blissful Flowers Shawl
This pattern is
available from interweave.com
for $2.75.
This pattern is also available in Seamless Crochet, available in print and eBook form.
Worked from the bottom up, a shawl is usually decreased on either side of the center and each side edge, to create a decreasing triangular shape. To achieve this design in motifs that join as you go, we convert the square motif into triangular motifs for the decrease section (thereby reducing additional motif edges for the next row of motifs). The motif is further converted to create a delicate and beautiful flower fringe. Once you are familiar with this technique, wouldn’t it make a beautiful raglan pullover?
GAUGE
1 motif = 2½“ (6.5 cm) square after blocking.
