Bodhi Mittens (and Fingerless Mitts)
Dress up your hands! This pattern includes options for both mitten and fingerless-mitt styles. A full photo tutorial is included for the motif stitch. The cable stitches can be done with or without a cable needle. Knit in the round, on dpns (or circulars, if you prefer).
For fun, I made a pair with beads. Instructions for beading are not included in the main pattern, but if you are so inclined… it’s easy! Uses size 5/0 beads and a small (10/1.30mm) crochet hook, after completing each k2tog in pattern rounds 8 and 16.
Basically, you knit the k2tog (the k1 and matching ES from the previous round), then add a bead to the resulting stitch. You would need 120 beads for a full pair of mittens (4 beads per “motif” on each mitten), or 96 beads for a pair of fingerless mitts.
