Savvy stripes: as good at the drafting table as they are for lazy Sundays at the coffeehouse with a favorite dystopian novel. Worked in pieces and seamed, Bradbury is precisely tailored through the shoulders for a neat and comfortable fit. The raglan seams are exposed for a constructed look at the yoke, and a block of the lighter color emphasizes the breadth of the shoulders. We chose a high-contrast color pairing for graphic impact; try a subtle shift between warm and cool neutrals or pair closely related shades for an entirely different feel.

Pieces are worked flat from the bottom up, and sewn together.

Gauge

23 stitches & 34 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch with Size A needle(s), after blocking

Needles

Size A (for Main Fabric):
One 24” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 3¾ mm (US 5)

Size B (for Ribbing):
One each 16” and 24” circular needles, one size smaller than Size A
Suggested Size: 3½ mm (US 4)

Size C (24” length optional; for Neckband and Tubular Cast On)
One each 16” and 24” circular needles, one size smaller than Size B
Suggested Size: 3¼ mm (US 3)

Size D (optional; for Tubular Bind Off only):
One 16” circular needle, two sizes smaller than Size B
Suggested Size: 3 mm (US 2½)

Note: If you have adjusted the needle size to obtain the correct gauge, it may or may not be necessary to make a matching adjustment to the needle size used for Tubular Cast On due to variance in individual work. You may wish to test your chosen cast-on method on your swatch.
