Brassaï
Famed photographer Brassaï roamed Paris with his camera, capturing everyday (and night) moments while imbuing them with the magic of his point of view. Combine your own daylight and midnight skeins, then sprinkle them with a special mini skein to create your own magical shawl.
Worked asymmetrically from one top point down, this triangle shawl combines garter stitch stripes (at the beginning to put that mini skein to best use) with a beautiful lace pattern and a classic lace edging. Stitch patterns are provided in both charted and written formats.
What you’ll love about knitting Brassaï:
- Begin with just a few stitches and those fun garter stripes before heading to lace country.
- Brassaï Lace only has two lace rows, so you get lots of bang for your knitting buck.
- The sideways knitted edging creates a pretty finish with very little casting off (so you don’t have to worry about “binding off loosely”).
What you’ll love about wearing Brassaï:
- Big triangle wraps you in coziness.
- With stripes and waving lace and that edging, every part of this shawl is pretty and worth showing off - wear it traditionally on your shoulders or bandit style to keep your neck warm.
- By combining three of your favorite yarns (one only needs to be a mini skein or something leftover in your stash), you’re sure to reach for this shawl every day - it goes with most of your wardrobe!
