Hello! I wanted to make a doggy for a friend of mine who owns rescued greyhounds but could not find a pattern I liked with a big long nose and dangly legs like a real greyhound so with much trial and error I made up my own!
Finished dog measures approximately 25cm (10 inches) from tip of nose to the end of the body and 28 cm (11 inches) from the top of the head to the bottom of the front foot.
Materials needed:
- DK yarn. I’m not sure exactly what brand I used as they were just leftover balls from my stash, but they were a cotton/acrylic blend, I probably used about 100g total. You will need a small amount of black for the nose and then whatever colours you want to make your dog. I used a light grey for the head and then added green and pink to the body, legs, ears and tail to make it stripey. I will give the instructions to make it exactly the same as mine but in reality you can make it one solid colour or just make the feet a different colour or add more colours and stripes or less stripes as you choose.
- 3.75mm hook (F hook)
- Stitch markers
- One pair of 12mm safety eyes
- Polyfil for stuffing
- Tapestry needle
- Pins to work out the placement of ears, neck, legs and tail before you sew them on.
- Ribbon to tie a bow around the neck
