I have a good friend that I’ve known for years. We live to tease each other. One day, I was bugging him about getting his toddler a new pet. I suggested a goldfish, to which he replied, “A goldfish is the dumbest pet you can give a two-and-a-half year old. She can’t cuddle it, she can’t pet it. All she can do it look at it.”
For days after that, I’d end every conversation we had with, “Don’t forget to pick up a goldfish on the way home…”
So naturally, when I was making up a care package of warm woolies for his little one, I had to include a goldfish!
Bubbles is a sweet little aquatic friend you can cuddle. He’s knit mostly in one piece. Only the eyes knit separate and sewn on. The fins are knit by picking up stitches on the body. He knits up quick and is a great way to use up left over yarn.
Whether you’re two or forty-two - a knitted goldfish is the best pet.
