A top down, seamless raglan, A-line top, featuring just a touch of lace and very slightly puffed sleeves. It is designed for a light dk yarn with some drape. The sleeve and body shaping and trim can easily be modified to suit your style. Suitable for an adventurous beginner or intermediate knitter.

Errata

  • under Body at the bottom of p. 2 the second line should read: Next round: (k8, m1, k to 8 st before next marker, m1, k8, sm) 2 times.

  • under Finishing on p. 3, you should begin picking up sts around the neckline starting with the RIGHT (not LEFT) vertical edge.

Additional FIT TIP
If you are ‘amply’ busted, you may want to select one size smaller than the recommended one according to the bust size, to make sure the yoke and neck sections are not too big. You can then make additional increases under the lace panel to provide more room for the bust if necessary.

I’ve also heard some concerns with the way the Hempathy looks when it is knit at a relatively loose gauge (e.g. 22). Tightening up the gauge is fine if you are aware of the effect on sizing and adjust accordingly, but the yarn ‘blooms’ when washed and the stitches really even out!
