This is a substantially chunky ‘chestwarmer’ with a simple cable design and a one-row buttonhole.

Please note: Artesano state that the tension of 7.5 stitches/9 rows in 10cm/4 inches is for either 12mm or US No. 17 needles, but this is misleading because US No. 17 are actually 12.75mm, not 12mm. I knitted it first in No 17 8.5 stitches/12 rows in 10cm/4 inches. I then knitted it in true 12mm needles and found it was more like 9 stitches/13 rows and the overall dimensions were reduced somewhat.

My finished design using No. 17 was approximately 18cm/7 inches wide and 115cm/46 inches long. Using the 12mm needles, it was 15cm/6 in wide and 110cm/44 in long.

Artesano has discontinued the Super Chunky but you can substitute a similar weight yarn provided the tension is the same.

I used 350g of the Artesano using No 17 and just over 300g using the 12 mm.
