Caffeine Hat
Contemplating what to gift your coffee-lover cousin for the holidays? or maybe you have a nephew or a granddaughter who is a total chemistry nerd and their birthday is coming up? Why not knit them this wonderfully squishy and tastefully nerdy hat that they will wear for years?
Caffeine Hat is a chemistry-themed beanie that is inspired by the designer’s favorite molecule ~ caffeine. The hat comes in adult size and is designed to have generous negative ease to fit a wide range of head circumferences. The folded brim provides two layers of warmth and coziness to protect your ears on cold winter days. The caffeine design is front and center to turn heads and serve as a conversation starter (don’t be surprised if people approach you and ask “what molecule is that?”).
The pattern includes written instructions in standard American terms in English, as well as knitting charts for more visual knitters.
The skill level required is intermediate, but adventurous beginners will find everything they need to know to knit this hat within the pattern. The pattern includes a stitch glossary that explains how to knit all the stitches used in the pattern, along with video tutorials for special stitches such as the vikkel braid.
