Callicarpa is a genus of shrubs and small trees that includes the American beautyberry, whose iridescent pink berries brighten a wintry day (and provide food for hungry winter birds).

This richly textural cowl, with its bobbles and beads, brings the same bright cheer to your winter wardrobe. Knit from a smooth high twist merino DK, its firm fabric will keep out bitter winds, while architectural details and beaded mesh inserts add sparkle on even the snowiest days.

Written and charted instructions are included for both the large, double-loop infinity scarf (approx 56 inches/147 cm in circumference) and smaller neckwarmer (approx 24 inches/61 cm in cirumference).

Either size can be made from a single skein of Wollmeise Merino DK.

Project is suitable for advanced beginners. Techniques used: provisional cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, make 1 increase, making a knot (which is similar to a bobble but easier), beading with a bead tool, pick up and knit.
