This is the pattern for the cardigan/sweater Ariel in ENGLISH and SWEDISH.

When I was designing it I was inspired by traditional Fair Isle motifs but wanted to combine a lot of shapes in a playful way to get a bit of an edge to it. The zigzag waves repeat around the sleeves, along the hem and around the yoke in addition to different motifs and shapes on all three places.

The pattern is fairly easy and can be made into a cardigan or kept as a pullover sweater. Both versions are knitted on circular needles from bottom to top in the round. The difference is in the end where the cardigan version is cut open in the front to make the edges with buttons and buttonholes. To prevent the knit from unraveling a sewing machine is used to sew around the cut line before cutting up the sweater.
