Written for three sizes with formulas included for calculating a custom-fit sock. You can work this pattern with two alternating colors, variegated, or semi-solid yarn. The cable design is charted and symmetrical so can be used for cuff-down socks as well (cuff-down instructions not included).

Techniques: toe-up, magic loop, magic cast-on, no-wrap short row toe & heel, cables, Kitchener-like bind off (my own version). The instructions for the no-wrap short rows are vastly improved over what is in my free sock pattern…including pictures! Don’t be afraid of all the techniques. You can always substitute your favorite toe or heel instead.

I wanted a sock with a Celtic cable but without the bulk of traditional cables. To that end, I have “re-invented” slip-stitch cables…I had to do a google search to find out what it was called because I knew I couldn’t be the first person to try this :)LOL

I would recommend 9spi for 100% merino yarns and 8-8.5 spi for wool/nylon blends. I also highly recommend swatching the cable section to determine your needles size.
