This cardigan is designed to give you the best of all worlds: it has a simple lace edging like a beautiful shawl, but provides the wearability of a cardigan. It’s basic enough to wear every day, and pretty enough to wear over your best dress.

It is knit in one piece from the top down, with a circular yoke and short rows to shape the front sections. The collar stitches are picked up and knit in the end. Instructions for lengthening the cardigan are given in the pattern. Suitable for a knitter with some experience.

Use a sport weight yarn with a recommended gauge of 24 - 26 sts per 10 cm (4 inches) that drapes well after blocking.
