Pattern description from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “Made with contrasting colors of Koigu multicolored merino in a simple though intricate-looking stitch pattern, this scarf is a great gift for a friend who appreciates the creativity of both artisan yarn-dyeing and your own special handknitting. It does take awhile to knit, so don’t start this gift too late.”

Finished Measurements: 5” (12.5 cm) wide, and 78” (198 cm) long.

Yarn: Koigu Premium Painter’s Palette Merino (KPPPM) (100% Merino wool; 175 yards [160 meters] / 50 grams): 2 skeins each of 2 different colors. Shown in Pink/Yellow Version, #P216 (A) and #P611 (B). Green/Purple Version, #P516 (A) and #P436 (B).

Needles: One set of straight needles size US 5 (3.75 mm). Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Yarn needle, scissors.

Helpful Hint from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “When switching between the two colors, pick up the new color in front of the old color every time. this way the yarns will be carried neatly along the edge of the scarf as you knit.”
