This pattern is the train addition to the Chrysanthemum Gown that includes the flared skirt bottom and the train in the back.
REVISION 1 (May 2016) contains the following changes:
1) The original version of the pattern shows the join on the right side of Panel B1 in the wrong place from rounds 39-53. This revision corrects the placement of the join and clarifies the schematics on page 2.
2) Page 13 is added to show horse hair braid hem finishing and a high-low skirt option.
3) Pages 14-15 are added to show an option for a detachable train.
If you have already purchased this pattern you should have received an automatically generated e-mail with a link to download the updated pattern.
This pattern does NOT include the pattern for the dress.
All the photos on this page show the complete wedding gown in a size small that could be created from the dress pattern AND the train pattern. At the bottom of this page is a photo of the custom satin liner I made for this dress. Since I did not use a pattern for the liner I’ve included a sketch of how I constructed the liner.
The train comes in three sizes just like the dress: Small, Medium, and Large. While the widths are different the length of the train is the same for all three sizes. However the length can be modified by changing gauge. The front measures approximately 18” long and the back is approximately 30” long from the start of the pattern. Depending on your height start the train pattern higher or lower on the skirt.
Approximate yardage using Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet Thread Size 10 and size 3.5mm hook:
Small: 1,500 yd
Medium: 1,800 yd
Large: 2,100 yd
Please also note that this pattern is CHARTED ONLY just like the dress pattern. At some point I will write out the pattern but for now it remains only in charts.
The train addition was tested as a shawl using the same stitch patterns. The shawl is available as a separate pattern: Shawl We Dance?
