This is a very chunky ‘chestwarmer’ scarf, which is buttoned to keep it in place.

This wool has been discontinued but is still available on-line and on ebay. I knit this using US No 17/12.75mm. My gauge came out differently to what Artesano states but I’m a tight knitter. If you use the 12mm needles, your gauge may be closer to 9 stitches/13 rows over 10 cm or 4 inches.

Instead of using just a button, you can use some DK yarn and make a simple crochet flower to sew the button onto first, before sewing the button onto the chestwarmer.
