This pattern is for the mouse, the removable clown, ringmaster and strong-mouse outfits, and the opening circus tent with removable roof!

The pattern contains lots of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms. All of my patterns have been independently tested prior to publication.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Patons Smoothie DK weight yarn for this project (this is equivalent to aran or light worsted weight yarn in most other brands) and my finished mouse measures approximately 10cm tall. Please ensure that you use the same weight yarn throughout the entire project.

For the mouse itself (pages 4 - 8) you will need the following colours / quantities:

• Main mouse colour - I used pale grey (approx. 23.5m).
• Nose / ears / feet / tail colour - I used pale pink (approx. 13m).

For the ringmaster outfit (pages 9 - 13) you will need the following colours / quantities:

• Red - for the jacket, bowtie & stripe on the hat (approx. 20.5m).
• Black - for the hat (approx. 7m).
• Yellow - for the shirt (approx. 7.5m).
• Grey - for the trousers (approx. 10m).

For the clown outfit (pages 13 - 19) you will need the following colours / quantities:

• Red - for the nose, bowtie, hat & shoes (approx. 13m).
• White - for the flower and face (approx. 2.5m).
• Yellow - for the flower, shirt & shoes (approx. 8.5m).
• Green - for the wig (approx. 10m).
• Blue - for the dungarees (approx. 11m).
• Dark Pink - for the balloon dog (approx. 19.5m).
• Black - for the horn (approx. 3m).
• Grey - for the horn (approx. 3.5m).

For the strong-mouse outfit (pages 20 - 22) you will need the following colours / quantities:

• Red - for the leotard (approx. 10m).
• White - for the leotard / weight details (approx. 2m).
• Yellow - for the star (approx. 1.5m).
• Light pink - for the nose (approx. 1m).
• Black - for the weight & the moustache (approx. 13m).
• Grey - for the weight (approx. 6.5m).

For the circus tent (pages 23 - 31) you will need the following colours / quantities:

• Red (approx. 120m).
• White (approx. 117m).
• Blue (approx. 158m).
• Yellow (approx. 4m).

Please note = The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide and are based on using Patons Smoothie yarn with a 4mm hook. The pattern refers to the colours that I used, however these can be substituted for colours of your choice.

You will also need:

• A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.
• 6mm black safety eyes for each mouse.
• Some toy stuffing.
• Some finer black yarn or thread for adding the details to the mouse’s face.
• ‘7 count’ plastic canvas. I had a 26cm x 33cm sheet (that’s 10.25 x 13.5 inches) & I used 2 sheets. A higher count (that’s the number of holes per inch) will mean the plastic is more bendy so stick to 7 count if possible.
• 6 buttons for the circus tent (the ones I used were 14mm in diameter) and a needle and thread with which to attach them. 2 are for the door and 4 are for attaching the roof (this is optional).
• 3 buttons for the outfits (the ones I used were 14mm in diameter) and a needle and thread with which to attach them.
• If you would like the mouse to be able to hold the balloon dog or horn, you can attach clear plastic 7mm press studs / snap fasteners to them (this step is optional).
• Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and some stitch markers.
