A fresh and easy-to-wear cardigan, with an interesting, fun construction. Features short-row shaped fronts and an easy textured pattern for the borders.

This cardigan is knit seamlessly from the top down to the armpits. The back stitches are then worked together with stitches picked up along each front raglans to form the body in one piece.
Short rows are worked to shape the front edges. Sleeves are worked in the round.

Please note: as can be seen in the profile photograph above, the back dips slightly compared to the front - more noticeably so for the larger sizes.

Skills required: casting-on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, picking up stitches, working short rows (explanations provided), yarn over, working an I-cord (explanations provided).

Finished garment has chest measurement of 18 (19.5, 21.5, 23 // 24, 25, 26.5, 28.5) inches or 46 (49.5, 54.5, 58.5 // 61, 63.5, 67.5, 72) cm.

Yarn requirements: 1.25 (1.5, 1.75, 2 // 2.25, 2.5, 2.75, 3) skeins of Malabrigo Rios 100% merino; 210yd/192m per 100g/3.43oz skein or approximately 250 (325, 375, 425 // 475, 525, 575, 625) yds or 240 (288, 340, 384 // 432, 480, 528, 576) meters of worsted weight yarn.

Needles / Notions:
US8 or 5mm double-pointed needles or size needed to get stockinette gauge (for sleeves)
US4 or 3.5mm double-pointed needles (for I-cord ties.)
US8 or 5mm circular needles or size needed to get stockinette gauge (for body).
Note: body of garment is not knit in the round. However, circular needles are needed because they hold all the stitches easily and because of their flexibility.
